COMMUNITY GROUPS are local gatherings of people in homes, backyards, and front lawns. These smaller gatherings create room for affinity, family, and fun! Groups will meet via ZOOM and In-Person.
We are called to be lights in our community to shine bright. We are looking for people who love Jesus and love people! Our Community Builders organize and facilitate healthy Community Groups in their local area.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What is a Community Group?
A Community Group is a small group of people from all different backgrounds & phases of life (including children) who meet weekly to build connection with each other and with Jesus. Community Groups offer an intimate and safe environment for encountering Jesus by encouraging, challenging, and supporting each other. Our heart is to create true and genuine communities that reflect the heart of God and the world we live in by acknowledging the importance and beauty of multi-generational and multi-ethnic groups. Therefore, we encourage you to sign up for a group based on the city/area you live.
Q: How important are Community Groups?
Especially during this last year, we have all experienced the importance of connection whatever way we can. Whether it was through a computer screen on ZOOM, watching a church service online while commenting in the Live Chat box, or dusting off our lawn/beach chairs and sitting outside while distanced in a parking lot. Being together, in whatever capacity, is crucial to who God created us to be as human beings. He created us for relationship - not for isolation. Community Groups are an essential aspect of our walk with Jesus as it promotes connection and togetherness. We are Better Together!
Q: When and where do they meet?
Community Groups meet on various days and times each week in person and on Zoom. Community Groups will meet in homes and/or yards wherever you are.
Q: How long do they last?
Each Community Group gathering lasts approximately 1 hour.
Q: What will we study?
Each week there will be discussion based on the previous Sunday Sermon. Whereas questions will be provided, the content of discussion will be based on each individual Community Group and their members. Our desire is for real relationships to be built while learning how to live out our faith in everyday life, as we discover, encounter, and display the love of Jesus.
Q: What does it cost?
There is no cost to join a Community Group. However, you are welcome to provide refreshments for your group once in-person gatherings resume.
Q: Is there childcare?
Each Community Group will consist of people from all different phases of life including children. Parents are encouraged to include their children in the gathering and then bring their children to their Community Group once in-person gatherings. This creates true and genuine communities in which we can all support each other.
Q: How do I choose a group?
Out of our desire to create close knit communities, we recommend choosing a Community Group based in the city/area in which you live. Please look through our list of Community Group Locations & Community Builders. If the date/time does not work with your schedule for your specific area, we encourage you to join a different Community Group that is closest to you.
